About The Lord Nelson

Would you like some history with that? We all love a history lesson, especially when it´s served with some hearty pub grub and a brew. This Geelong pub takes its name from a famous English naval commander who fought against Napoleon in the 1800s. Pretty cool huh? The sight was originally home to one of Geelong´s first hotels back in 1849, but was rebuild in the twenties when they gave it a snazzy art deco facade. Today, the formidable building has been renovated to look like it did back in the roaring twenties with the inside taking you even further back in time to a Victorian manor. The Lord Nelson certainly looks a treat, and with award-winning goodies on offer, the dining experience is an all-rounder. Come in for some typical pub food while enjoying a beer. Maybe even the pub´s own Old Admiral beer, brewed in Australian´s oldest pub brewery in Sydney. The Lord Nelson Hotel is not just a pretty sight - it´s a site with delicious bites. Best dish: crumbed pork cutlet
