Service was fine, atmosphere was good. The food was pretty awful. Dry, clearly cheap ingredients, pretty disappointing. Even the basic corn chips and guacamole were so pathetically store bought. Just no effort at all.

Absolutely awesome decor, so unique and fun, the staff were super friendly and inclusive, they had great recommendations and the vibe was very fun. The cocktails were also delicious, and had a huge variety, and they weren't stingy on the alcohol either! Great experience, I would highly recommend it to anyone

We used to go every weekend to the old LuWow and dance the night away, and are loyalty card holders. We thought going for Halloween would be a great way to celebrate the end of lockdown. The various lockdown measures kept the stay short and the attendance low, but that is in no way the fault of the proprietors. We hope things return to normal and hope to return soon. The new LuWow looks great. The food was tasty and the service was great (quesadillas are Australian rather than American sized, and the salsa was a bit bland). The new drinks menu is excellent. The vibe is great and Josh Collins exudes hospitality as only he can. We highly recommend it.

Awesome atmosphere and super friendly staff. The food and cocktails are spectacularly tiki. The Luwow has stepped it up another notch since covid lockdown. Definitely a great night out and will be back!

Let’s make this clear - this is one of my favourite bars in Melbourne, possibly Australia. It’s a Tiki bar on par with some of the finest on the planet including Tiki-Ti in LA and Jacobi’s in Sydney. The drinks are amazing, the decor is top notch (and they’ve really stepped it up with some time in lockdown) and the staff are super nice, professional & welcoming. My guest and myself felt very safe in these tentative early steps into post-COVID hospitality. The food however isn’t great: we ordered the “Mambo Platter” to share which had a sweet potato taco, jackfruit taco, pork taco, beef quesadilla, guac, corn chips and a roast chilli salsa. The tacos were on the cold side. The jackfruit was cut into chunks instead of pulled which it usually is to simulate pulled meat, which made it a bit tough to eat through. The pork (carnitas) was in large chunks and also not pulled which wasn’t too bad but a bit odd and made it a bit too agressively “pork”-y. The rest of the platter wasn’t too bad but generally colder than you’d like but to be fair I think it was opening night under these strange new conditions so I’ll give them a wide berth. Long live LuWow!
