This was my first time visiting The Meat & Wine Co, the food and wine was good, I would not recommend the cocktails, very average. Service was on the slow side considering there seemed to be ample staff.
Lovely lunch with friends on a rainy Sunday afternoon. We all really enjoyed our meals and the wine we selected. The staff were attentive and the ambiance was wonderful!
Food was great and consistent with previous visits, food could be warmer though. Wine list could be improved but overall decent service and a nice meal.
Highly recommend this lovely venue for a special dinner. My partner and I were thrilled with the service and the menu choices and recommendations from the staff, and the wine list was very good. We will definitely be back.
The staff were welcoming, the service was excellent with a relaxed atmosphere and a fantastic menu. Location is perfect and will definitely recommend and will go again.
Steak was superb! One of the best I’ve had. Our waiter forgot to put through our order of sides. I would normally be more understanding of this as people make mistakes however the fact that he also forgot the sides for the people on the table next to us was annoying. Our waiter came to apologise but did nothing to make up for his mistake.
Our group of 11 enjoyed the venue, drinks, food & company. We will certainly be returning in the near future.
We had lots of issues during our meal. Our mains arrived before our entree and they tried to tell us we never ordered an entree and proceeded to put the plates down on our table and said they will bring the entree out afterwards.. umm no thanks! Entree was fine, when we finally got it. But my steak was dead cold when they brought it out, not even slightly warm. I think it had sat there since the first time it came out. The waiter said he will go and ‘warm it up’!!?? Once again No Thankyou, I am paying a lot of money so I insisted on a freshly cooked one. Partner had ribs, they were good. Offered us dessert on the house for all they’re stuff upd but we declined as we just wanted to get out of there. Would not go back!
Good food, service and atmosphere
Please make sure you advice how the steak should be done based on the meat cut. My and my friends meat was over done.
Meat was very dry, not made to our request. Sauces were very average.
No surprise about the location being great... but the food and the service were both superb. Really friendly staff who actually gave proper recommendations of the food (a LOT better than my experience at Rockpool the next week) and the food was delicious. Highly recommended!
Service is not good. Very slow.
The steak was not great. One step up from pub meal quality. Slightly overpriced. Good location and kind staff. Very casual dining for the price. I won’t rush back!
Slightly dark seating under the stairs, bit hard to get attention from waiters after ordering or between courses due to peak hours. Otherwise, staffs are very nice and welcoming, food was great.
Waiter was amazing. Food was incredible. Will definitely come back soon!
Great food and service. Highly recommended if you love steaks
This place was amazing. The food, drinks and happy hour was great. The service was impeccable and would highly recommend!
Outstanding beef ribs.

The name says it all
This well-loved steak house has grown from other restaurants owned and named in the same vein. Australian cuisine is served with an African twist; highlighting the beautiful array of spices and different ways of cooking the lovely produce that they so reverently insist on serving their loyal customer base. A few token vegetarian dishes ensure that there are sufficient sides for the lighter eater, including a lovely Tuscan kale salad, a chickpea salad and a Greek version that is hard to beat. Starters include some delicious sounding teasers - Szechuan calamari, seared beef carpaccio and Boerwors, a delish African beef sausage. It is most definitely the selection of meat cuts that deserve your attention here: choose from a huge range of specially-aged and highly rated meats. Their side sauces are to die for - African hot chilli, Meranda Valley mushroom, and a homemade barbeque relish. The décor here is almost industrial - all polished materials including a very slick bar and cosy mannish couches and shelving. It all works, however, and the result is a very high-end, busy bar and restaurant.
