Had a lovely dinner at The Moat on The Fork intro offer and received fantastic service from the staff while there. It is an intimate little place if you are seated inside but there are also a few tables outside if you are after some fresh air or just fancy a drink and some snacks. We shared some sardines and olives to start which were both very nice, especially the olives which were lovely, warm and soft (but not squishy), coated in oil and rosemary. The other diner is coeliac and the lovely waiter quickly offered gluten free bread to accompany the sardines where they were just prepared to go without. Unfortunately, the warm weather and approaching long weekend meant a couple of things had run out so I was very disappointed not to be able to chow down on the slow roasted lamb shoulder, but the alternatives of the lamb ribs and chicken and feta meatballs were both very nice. Wilted greens on the side were cooked to perfection ... you'd definitely need something to accompany the mains we had, but the waiter had told us that, so not a problem. Had all your standard beers, but also a couple of locally brewed options so the blood orange saison (brewed somewhere in Collingwood, I wasn't paying too much attention sorry!) was nice and refreshing at the end of a hot day. Overall, definitely a place to visit for either a meal or drinks and snacks.
