We had a great experience about 3 weeks prior to this dining experience that's why we came back for Father's Day dinner but our booking was cancelled and I had to sort it out with The Fork. The restaurant has not got back to me after the first email saying they will sort it out. The second experience is a disappointment. Food (roast beef) was tough as nails, the service was rushed and unfriendly, I asked for a lovely table but they just put us outside in the pub area. Not happy.

Excellent. All 4 diners thoroughly enjoyed our meals. However there were too much capers in the salmon pasta dish making it quite salty. Chips were the best. One diner commented it was the best fish she had. Will be back again. Thanks

Great local pub. Lunch and dinner 7 days a week, some entertainment and a nice atmosphere.

About The Rising Sun Hotel

The best local boozer Just outside of Melbourne’s main metropolis is The Rising Sun Hotel, a old-fashioned public house that’s serving steaks and pouring ice cold brews. On the menu you’ll find all your gastro pub classics as well as a few sophisticated mains. The wine list is a cut above what you’d find in most other locals and they also have some great ‘package deals’ which can save you a few bob. Come for the weekly Riser Pub quiz on Monday nights or come on Tuesday, Thursday or Sunday to enjoy some live jazz and a pint. Get here and enjoy this classic old boozer, you won’t be sorry. Best Dish: The “Riser” famous brioche burger (which changes daily).
