10/10This is a great place for seafood in the great Surry Hills area. The food is fresh and treated carefully. We have been a few times now and the quality is consistent. The menu is a good size. There are some unusual plates. The leek tart is fantastic. Staff are fabulous and the booking system works.

The Rover is a neighbourhood bar serving seasonal cocktails, quaffable wine and a seafood-driven food menu featuring a selection of freshly shucked oysters.
Toasting to wilder days of foot stomping shenanigans, The Rover re-emerges with the bustling charm of old and the sophistication of a dapper New York cocktail bar.
As you approach her doors, an amber glow and the muted echo of boisterous banter spills out from the windows and onto the dark street, luring you in for a closer peak. Step inside as the bartender warmly signals you in to join the jovial spirit of the night.
The dimly-lit copper bar is ablaze in the flurry of familiar faces as stiff libations flow with ease. Pull up a seat and tuck into a very satisfying martini and some freshly shucked Sydney rock oysters. Or roll into the night and indulge in a generous seafood-driven menu boasting poached octopus, smoked sardines and a curried fish finger sandwich, all washed down with quaffable, punchy wines from near and afar.
Whether dropping in for a casual tipple or seeking a proper night out, The Rover returns, right here in the belly of Surry Hills.
