10/10This is my first visit to The Stunned Mullet. The food was truly amazing, only matched by the excellent service. The restaurant is truly a gift to Port Macquarie.

10/10Winner of a prestigious chefs hat since 2014, The Stunned Mullet was definitely a draw card for us to visit Port Macquarie. No words can describe how outstanding this restaurant is. I would rate this beachside diner as one of the best places I’ve ever eaten. Not only was the service personal and the flavours delectable, the produced oozed a quality and freshness that’s rarely surpassed. Undecided with the menu other than our disinterest in dessert, we determined three courses could still be achieved with two entrées and a main, oh, and plus freshly shucked oysters (with a flight of dressings) as pre-lunch hors d'œuvres. Flavour popped with every bite, regardless of the dish, and to single one out as a favourite was impossible. Cam and I heavily debated which was better, the hiramasa kingfish or glacier 51 toothfish (I think the toothfish won). If you do nothing else whilst on the mid-north coast of NSW, you must enjoy a lunch or dinner at The Stunned Mullet. Perfection by the sea.

4/10Totally over priced. Cheapest bottle of wine $72!! Seriously need to readjust their attitude with their prices. Not even to have table cloths on the table for the mandatory $95 a head menu. No thanks. More like stunned wallet.

10/10Food was delicious and service was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered, especially the wagyu hanger steak and scampi linguine. The salted creme caramel wasn’t exactly what we anticipated and was upstaged by the mouth watering sesame feuille and mango sorbet. Still enjoyed the creme caramel though and would definitely recommend this restaurant to all lovers of fine dining.

10/10We had our anniversary dinner. Food was delicious. Oysters were fresh and tasty, tooth fish was light and amazing. My husband had eye fillet, he loved the touch of wasabi on the steak. We really enjoyed our dinner tonight and would definitely recommend this place to all our friends!

9.5/10We had dinner at the Stunned Mullet during our stay at Port Macquarie. We had the seared scallops, crisp king prawns, scampi linguine, waguy steak, creme caramel and Japanese cotton cake. All dishes were delicious. We particularly love the Asian flavours in the dishes. This is one of my favourite hatted restaurants in regional NSW and I can't wait to come back for more.

Food to shock and awe
Anyone who thinks the food in Port Macquarie isn't world class needs to think again. The award-winning team behind The Stunned Mullet has gone from strength to strength in the decade since they opened, turning out fresh and exciting food for their large base of local (and visiting) fans. The menu is broken up into “the smalls”, “the substantials”, “the incidentals” (ie sides) and “the sweet stuff”, and you could quite honestly just pick a dish by pointing your finger at the menu without looking and know that you were going to be getting something delicious. After all, how can you go wrong with a line-up that includes grilled lobster tail with ajo blanco, green gazpacho and radish, as well as confit duck leg with truffled mash and sour cherry? Or put your meal in the hands of the producers by choosing the “Fishmonger's Choice” for your main, which will be a piece of sustainable, line caught fish (chosen by the local fishmonger, of course) served with an olive and panko crust on a carrot and lemongrass puree. It will be so delicious you really will be left stunned.
Best dish: smoked eggplant terrine
