Pork ribs were delicious and soft and the loaded fries with the brisket was so yummy but the beef brisket dish was a little dry!

If you're looking for something light and healthy, don't come here! The menu is full of tempting options but they're pretty much all heavy. My table had the beef ribs, cheeseburgers, chicken, sweet potato loaded fries, mac & cheese and slaw - everything was tasty and delicious! Would certainly recommend this place, especially with a hangover!

We booked an 8.15pm table through Dimmi at 6pm on the same day, and was shocked to discover that our booking has not gone through to the restaurant, meaning that they did not have a table for us. The staff said the booking takes ‘4 hours’ to go through - which did not make sense in this day and age. In the end, we waited for an extra half an hour before being seated. We appreciated the efforts of the staff’s arrangements on this busy night. Simple dishes like pork ribs, wings, Naked burger and Burger Royale were great. But some items on their menu simply had too much going on in one dish. I misread and accidentally ordered the 3 Piggies thinking that it would arrive as three small sliders, but it turned out to be one gigantic burger with at least 3 different types of meat in it. The burger was also loaded with what felt like half a cup of cream cheese. I could only finish half of the entire serving, and my friends finished the rest. We all agreed that the burger would have been nicer if it was kept simpler, as Less is more! I also ordered the Kirin apple cider (on the menu), but without letting me know that they didn’t have Kirin, I was brought a Co-Op cider, which was not my favourite. I still took it because the bottle was already opened and I didn’t want it to go to waste. Overall, my experience at Third wave was not the best, but am keen to come back to try out their simpler menu items.

About Third Wave Cafe Port Melbourne

Wave hello Third wave cafe is a charming little place in Port Melbourne with an ambient interior and beachy outdoor area. Third Wave doubles as a cafe by day and an American-style BBQ house by night. Meats are slow cooked and smoked with a range of different woods like hickory and apple, producing delicious and subtle flavours. The juicy pork ribs are done Southern style using dry spices and two different kinds of sauces. And their beef ribs are made from a one-of-a-kind recipe, with an unforgettable blend of nine spices and hot sauce. They even have a number of Russian dishes that include the crepe-like blintzes, filled with meat, cheese or vegetarian ingredients, and Russian dumplings known as pelmeni. This place is just full of surprises! Their specials menu will wow you with super-delicious American goodies like the maple syrup candied bacon and Texan fried brisket. Gluten free options are aplenty and vegetarians need not miss out. Best dish: beef ribs
