Graham Jefferies

Born in South Africa, Graham has travelled extensively learning about food. His list of achievements include Lynchs, Sous Chef at Pettavel, Sous Chef at Michelin starred Crown at Whitebrook, stages at the Fat Duck and New York's three star restaurant, Daniel, Head Chef at Baveras and Head Chef at Wildflower before opening Tulip as Head Chef and owner. Tulip has been awarded a hat for the past five years. Passionate about the ethics of food production, Graham instils this in the restaurant.

ANOTHER FANTASTIC DINNER @ TUTIP! THIS IS OUR FAVOURITE RESTAURANT IN GEELONG. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS HOWEVER, LAST NIGHT THE CURED FISH AND THE CHICKEN WERE HEAVENLY! CAN’T WAIT TO GO BACK.

One of the best dining experiences in a long time. Beautiful, exciting and unexpected dishes, enormous appetitive-, cocktail- and wine list. Service is outstanding. Tulip restaurant went straight to the top of my favourites list!

Continues to be one of the very best restaurants in Geelong. Innovative food that is always super fresh, a great wine list, and really excellent wait staff. My only vaguely negative comment is that is very noisy during peak periods like Saturday nights. So if you want to be able to hear each other, go earlier than 7pm!

About Tulip

A hidden gem in Geelong’s metropol It's pretty easy to miss the latest restaurant from chefs Matt Dempsey and Graham Jefferies. Their restaurant Tulip is camouflaged as a hole-in-the-wall café in Geelong’s metropol - narrow and quaint with a sweet table for two out the front masks its interior. But wait - just before you start worrying on their behalf about economies of scale, it opens up into a respectable-sized place with all the polished concrete, pale timber and decorative terracotta pots a diner could wish for (well let’s face it, this decor almost a prerequisite these days). Tulip is a mix of well executed contemporary-ness, with trendy crockery and pleasing prices. The menu offers a wonderful mix of flavours and exciting dishes, inviting diners to share and sample everything. Spoilt for choice? You can simply ask for the ‘chef’s selection’ at $65 per person. Flexibility, simplicity and quality combine making Tulip a unique dining experience. Best Dish: grilled octopus with chorizo, capsicum and fennel.
