A quite mixed experience, the negative part of which I’d like to think was a one off. I was in Brisbane with work, and hence booked dinner for just myself. The menu looked nice. I ordered the Miso Marinated Beef as entrée and the Chili Lemongrass Chicken Supreme for mains. I had a beer to start whilst waiting for the food – the beer I ordered originally was no longer on the menu, but that was fine. Ten to fifteen minutes later out came my entrée; great as I was hungry. However so did my mains! I was sitting outside which was pleasant, slightly cool Brisbane evening. I was in no hurry and did not want to have to eat 2 courses quick. I has trouble locating a waiter / waitress so I started eating. I also wanted t to get a glass of red wine and again no staff came around for a long period. So, I started eating the chicken mains – it was very tasty as was the entrée. Finally, a waitress came around. I ordered a wine (my original choice was no longer provided either?!) and I questioned as to why both entrée and mains arrived at the same time. She stated they should not have, probably a mix up in the kitchen and said she would find out. Another waitress brought my glass of red shortly after that. To summarise, the food was very nice and well-priced. The service was lacking as there were very little staff walking the floor and looking after the patrons. The kitchen issue with main and entrée coming out at the same time was poor. When I paid, I mentioned all this to the more senior manager at the register. She apologised and took the price of the entrée off my bill. She said the kitchen normally operate very well. So, I hope that this was a once-off and not normal, as I enjoyed the food. The setting and ambience were nice as well. I will be back to see if this was an aberration.

Service was good. Restaurant feel was nice. Food was hit/ miss. Highlight was the lamb - that was delicious with great flavour. The salad that it was on, was ok. Steak was ok. Dessert of the chocolate brownie was also a highlight. It would have been better if all of the brownie pieces were served warm. Just one of them was decently warm when we went to eat it. The peanut butter cream was delicious and paired well with the coulis. Would come back eventually, we usually revisit once or twice a year.

Had the mussel and clam pot with beer and bacon sauce, it was not good or fresh at all. There were broken shells throughout, and had to dispose of quite a few of the mussels as they didn't seem edible. The sauce was really good though.

We dined on a 50% off deal so our price perhead was obviously lower than normal. The service was excellent. Food was well presented & came out quickly. The entree garlic prawns are very decent size serve. The spaghettini sand crab was garlic, salty & all-round delicious. My husband had the lamb main & felt it a little small. We know for next time to get a side dish as well.
