About Uncle

R.E.S.P.E.C.T Uncle. Interesting name you might say but this is a term of endearment and respect in Vietnam - and Uncle has earned the respect of Melburne's die-hard foodies. In fact, it has gained a cult following of diners. The restaurant aims to be genuinely Vietnamese, and it does a bloody good job of that. Perched above Blackhearts and Sparrows, there is a working bar downstairs, and indoor and alfresco dining up top. This is an enjoyable, tasty and feel god dining experience, suitable for all. The venue is light and airy, and thrives during summer with the rooftop terrace. What’s on the menu? Expect to see 'Little Guys' such as rice paper rolls, free range chicken slaw and wagyu beef wrapped in betel leaves, Banh Mi, Pho, and 'Big Guys' like tumeric duck curry and aromatic vegetable curry. Sides and desserts are also in the mix, and they’re just as tasty. There’s plenty of drinks available too, from cocktails to beer, cider and tea. There’s not much Uncle can’t do. Respect. Best dish: free range chicken slaw
