Van's is a great cafe/restaurant - food and atmosphere is superb. The service was a little patchy from a variety of uncoordinated wait staff, though that just allowed us to enjoy the ambiance and not get rushed thru.
Great food, location and service
A really good vibe at this local favourite. Great food, service is attentive but not intrusive and a decent wine list. Excellent value!
We’ve previously enjoyed dining at Van’s as a family, so when my wife and I had the night to ourselves we were eager to try the Saturday special chateaubriand. Unfortunately our after being seated we were forgotten about, to the point that I had to approach the maître d’ for our drinks order. My wife started to feel uncomfortable when another table of 2 were seated adjacent to us - due to the L shaped seating, she was effectively sitting opposite a complete stranger. We decided to order something simple and get the hell out of there as quickly as possible. Perhaps our experience was not reflective of typical dining at Van’s but it was disappointing nonetheless.
Consistently popular, for a good reason.
Food and service were great. I was disappointed to have been placed in the back area despite booking a few days before. The area was cold because the heater was not on despite asking staff about it. I think 1 table out of the six places in the area requested heater off. Maybe the restaurant needs to check with customers before placing them in this area or keep the heater on!
Vans is our ‘go to’ restaurant. Food is always great and the service is always fantastic.
Consistently good as always,thanks!
Great "buzz" / atmosphere, changing menu, creative dishes, always a "go to" place for a fun dining experience.
The main course was good, but the desert menu needs to be improved.
Pleasant evening ,
Had a nice evening meal with friends
Always excellent value for money.
Really enjoyed our meal, good atmosphere, will be back!
Love how this restaurant is always so consistently good!
It’s always great to go to Vans. Yummy food and friendly staff.
Great food, consistently good food and service.
Excellent meal, great atmosphere, helpful considerate service
Fabulous attentive service. The restaurant was bustling, which is a testament to it's staff given it was a weeknight. The children enjoyed the colouring in whilst awaiting their delicious dinner. We have a lovely evening.
Selection of food was great and so was the decor. Tables are a bit close to each other so at times one has to talk over the neighboring table. Service was great and the food hot when delivered to the table.
1 Napoleon Street, 6011, Cottesloe, Australia
Wake up call This grand old dame of Cottesloe, down at the railway end of Napoleon Street, really was an old-fashioned delicatessen once upon a time. Now it’s a bustling all day eatery with a vivacious atmosphere that seems to overflow onto the pavement (dogs welcome, water bowls plentiful). It’s one of the trendiest cafes on a street of trendy cafes, and the food is as good as the coffee. The breakfast menu offers all the usual favourites; Bircher muesli, buttermilk pancakes and eggs all over the place, but for something to really wake up your tastebuds tried the spicy Indonesian fried eggs, with coriander, sambal, crispy shallots and lap cheong sausage. The sophisticated cuisine starts at noon. The menu offers a splendid array of contemporary fusion. For something exotic, try the blue swimmer crab linguine, or the masala spiced lamb rack. Best Dish: Lemon Tart
