We use to frequent this restaurant from when they first opened however we moved away from the suburb it is in, decided to go there for my wifes birthday. It appears that they have changed ownership and the strip was bustling with people however not many eating in the the restaurant. On first impressions it looked a lot different and I noticed the mat at the front door had seen better days (frayed and worn), the floor was a little dirty, I notice little things as we use to own a Cafe, there were three tables of customers and one waitress, she was friendly and attentive however a little slow with getting to us for drinks to start off, and once the food was served she didn't keep checking to see if we needed more drinks etc. Apart from that the food was nice and tasty. Attention to little details are important and customers notice, so cleanliness is not only important for first impressions but a requirement of the hospitality industry.
They have some kind of pipe issue out the back where the toilets are (happened at a restaurant I’ve worked at) and the smell lingers throughout the store when that back door remains open. So that wasn’t amazing.. however the drinks were really fun and the food was pretty good but nothing exceptional.
Was ok. Was definitely better with previous owners, sorry.
Wasn't as good as I remember. Although my plate was boiling hot, my burrito was cold and the meat inside was very cold? My brother in laws fajita was nice. Just not as good as the last time we were there and that was many months ago.
Great local Mexican - Nachos and Tacos are always a winner!
Nice food, great drinks!
Children's taco covered in red cole slaw instead of lettuce. The cook yelling in the kitchen. Terrible. I won't be back.
Food was ok, but the service was pretty bad.
Portions were so big. Didn't need starters at all.
Excellent service and very tasty Mexican food as always!

If you’re looking for a restaurant that combines good food and good times then Viva Zapatas is it. This Mexican restaurant skillfully blends traditional and contemporary flavours and techniques to create a winning Mexican menu and (dangerously good) cocktails. On the menu you’ll find their famous nachos as well as tacos, enchiladas, taquitos, fajitas, burritos, chilli con carne and a massive Mexican grill (just to name a few). You can’t go past their frozen margarita or their ‘ice cream nachos’, which features a pyramid of cinnamon tortilla crisps on a bed of vanilla ice cream and topped with chocolate sauce. The team here have been serving top notch Mexican grub since 1986, so you know you’re in safe hands!
Best dish: nachos supremos.
