Two of us attended the WatersEdge restaurant today for lunch .The service was very good and extremely pleasant staff. We had the 3 course menu plus the 2 extra plates .All courses were very different in flavours as the two guest had different dishes. Presentation was beautiful . We plan on coming back again as we have several times. On a beautiful sunny day the outlook is great .
I took a friend to lunch to celebrate her birthday. We chose the a la Carte menu. I asked for tap water but there was already an opened bottle of sparkling water on the table. Apart from that, the staff were charming and attentive. Our main course was Catch of the Day (monk fish). I dine out frequently at a wide range of restaurants but haven't been to the Waters Edge for a couple of years. It was the smallest main course I have ever had anywhere. It was not suggested that we order extra vegetables but at $35 we assumed we would not need them and we wanted to leave room for dessert. The fish had absolutely no flavour or flesh texture and was shaped into a cylinder approximately 5cm wide and about 9cm high. Apart from the Passion Fruit Beurre Blanc Sauce, everything else on the plate was virtually a garnish. I believe my friend enjoyed her dessert but I ordered the Peach Bavarian which comprised 2 very small hemispheres with very little flavour. I would also suggest they invest in some normal sized dessert spoons as the one provided was like a slightly enlarged salt spoon, very difficult to hold and use elegantly. This was not up to the standard of the Waters Edge I remember.
The staff were super welcoming and the atmosphere is very nice. We were out with friends celebrating their engagement and everything was simply amazing. Food was delicious, and so was the wine. We will definitely come back!
$66 for 3 course lunch sounded like a good deal. There were 2 extra dishes that were not listed in the menu, nice surprise. The presentation and quality was great overall. Just that the servings were smaller than expected and my sister felt she wasn't full (the 2 extra courses were like 1 octopus ball and some sort of light dessert with sorbet). The steak was $39 on the a-la-carte (or one of the mains in the set lunch) menu, however it was like about 100 g of meat (as opposed to 200-300 g served at other restaurants). My sister's serve had quite a bit of tendon / unchewable bits as well. If they only serve half a steak, I would have expected every bite to be edible (this was mentioned to the waitress when the plate was collected). My serve was fine - cooked to perfection, was juicy. Table water was only refilled once (we were at the corner table, maybe we got checked on less often). All floor staff were south Asian - not sure if it's changed hands since I was there a few years ago or to cut costs. The food looked and tasted lovely, really.
So good that I’m back on this site to book again ! Excellent restaurant!
Great food. The added chef special surprises made it special. Nice and quite atmosphere with a great view of the lake. Will definitely go back for a celebration!
The food was delicious, the menu was well put together and the matching wines were perfect. The restaurant had great atmosphere and was really well priced. The only negative was that we mentioned one guest was gluten free at the time of booking, then again when we confirmed our booking and then once more when we arrived and yet we had to return some dishes because they contained gluten. But I’m saying that, the issue was quickly resolved and didn’t spoil our night at all. Overall I would recommend and will dine there again!
We were welcomed with a smile. We had to remind staff we had requested a window table as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. We were accommodated appropriately and from then our service was tremendous and the food was sensational. Great food, fabulous service and fantastic setting. We will return.
Really great location with fabulous food. Quite reasonable for fine dining. Worth checking your receipt at the end because they accidentally overcharged us.
Fantastic service and food. Could not fault. Views of the lake were beautiful. Food was all deliciously cooked and presented. Waitresses were all very friendly and professional. Would definitely be back.
Excellent food and environment. Welcoming staff helped make the experience even more delightful. We always go there for any special occasion to make it more special.
The food was excellent. We had the 3 course menu for dinner. The choices were amazing and I will be going back.Staff were attentive and meals were brought out in a timely manner.
The service was superb, we were welcomed outside. The restaurant has a good choice of dishes and the food isexcellent. We loved the setting as well. Definitely worth it.
Very attentive staff and excellent food. Really enjoyed the experience.
Excellent food and great service. We were looked after by Chris who was first rate and clearly loves his job. Would recommend to all looking for a fine dining experience.
Great food as always though having been here three times in the past two weeks we'll be hoping for a menu change down the track. The ambience is less interesting and needs some updating eg the fridges at the front detract from light and the view! Keep up the great work on the food please.
A very relaxing Sunday lunch. We had the 3 course lunch which was more than sufficient. The addition of Chefs starter and beautiful palette cleanser before dessert were also lovely touches. We were last to leave and did not feel under any pressure to hurry up given the restaurant was closing. A very happy customer.
Very good food, excellent service, and terrific view. Type of place not for informal dining but for a special meal or occasion. Have been there a few times over the years and will be back again.
Great setting. Helpful staff. Excellent food. Surprise cake and candle when they knew it was my birthday celebration dinner. Highly recommended.
Delicious food, great service and very lovely atmosphere. We were there for celebrate Father’s Day and we definitely enjoy our night. Would definitely go back again. Highly recommended
