Fantastic good and service
The restaurant was 100% better when we went last year. Poor service. Food not value for money. Told Coffee was closed then machine had chemicals. What restaurant does not have coffee.
Service was terrible had finished our entree still waiting on the wine
Service was appalling, waitresses didn't really know what was going on. We received a dirty plate which we sent back to be replaced and then watched the same waitress wander aimlessly around trying to find the table she took it from. Menu was limited so we opted for 2 entrees each - one to be served as the main course. Halfway through the first entrée they brought the second one which was taken back and replaced (reheated?) and served at a more appropriate time Wine list was small and uninspiring - we ended up pouring it ourselves as there was a distinct lack of response to refilling empty glasses. It wasn't busy so there was no excuse. One waitress needed to go home for a sleep as she yawned through the night. Others looked bored and disinterested even when it came time to pay the bill. Music was too loud for a restaurant .
We have been there before and we think it has improved since then. We have no hesitation to recommend it now,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
The restaurant was busy but that was no excuse for the service. It was hard to tell who the wait staff were, and when we tried asking one person we identified as a waitress she said she would be with us shortly but never came back. We finally received some service but it was rushed and the rest of the night we were left to ourselves. The only saving grace was the food, we had the seafood share platter. But you can get food just as nice with much better service elsewhere. We won’t be back.
The service was very slow the menu has changed and the food was very average but very expensive.
Come on. This is a great spot, with nice atmosphere. The food was nice but the service was more like a cafe than a fine dining experience. Actually, that is unfair to cafes. It was rude, inefficient and devoid of concern for our enjoyment of the experience. Definitely not what it used to be. So disappointing.
Extremely disappointed in service, atmosphere and staff. Food was like cafe style food with but overpriced. The staff were more interested in laughing with one another than serving us food and drinks.
Good place for lunch
This is our fourth time at Whitewater.Almost certainly the last..I understand that the menu may be restricted because of the pandemic but the quality of all 4 dishes was poor. The squid ink risotto was totally tasteless.
We had planned a Father’s Day lunch here with three couples and three brand new babies. I told them in advance we’d have three prams, and they sat us at the perfect table right in the front, kind of separated so we could park all the prams right nearby. They were patient with us as we took forever to decide what we wanted, and then all three babies needed to be changed and eat just as we were finishing up, but they didn’t rush us. The food was really good, the burger and ribs combo gets 5 stars!
Nice view and quite a relaxed atmosphere.
Seafood platter was excellent, staff helpful . A worthwhile restaurant to visit for dinner. Would recommend a visit to experience both food and location.
Great food. Great service. Nice place.
The atmosphere was great but the food was quite disappointing. The steak and mushroom sauce is $42 but the mushroom sauce was definitely not “mushroom” it tasted more like an awful gravy.
Tables were sticky and dirty, the service was poor for a restaurant that should have been good for its location. Very disappointed and wouldn't bother going again!
We believe price/quality does not match. Expensive dining for poor quality! Most staff have no clue what they are supposed to do. For these prices you could at least expect correct clothing from staff. That is more than a black T-shirt and jeans. We won’t come back!
Location and staff’s smiles were very nice and happy start my weekend morning.
Fabulous place, nice atmosphere and music. Food was good but a bit pricey. Service was not great.

Beach-chic
Situated just a stones throw away from Manly's glittering foreshore is Whitewater Restaurant. It's location is enhanced by the beach-chic decor, amped up by white leather furnishings, lime-washed maple floors and a dramatic sharkskin leather bar front. Glorious decor aside, Whitewater offers plenty of reasons to come in off the sand, courtesy of Head Chef Luke Cesare’s Modern Australian menu. Cesare has cleverly anticipated diners inevitable desire for seafood with oysters, sashimi and a weighty platter of chilled shellfish and crustaceans on offer. The rest of the menu reflects Australia’s multicultural palate, with Mediterranean flavours and Asian-inspired dishes making an appearance. After your decadent meal take a stroll along the Manly foreshore and plan your next trip to Whitewater - trust us you'll be back.
Best Dish: seafood tasting plate.
