Wine tasting was a great addition
Wednesday - steak night, cooked to perfection.
When sauce is advertised as a selection for a Accompaniment it should come as that not as a a garnish. There was a small drizzle of sauce not enough to even taste.. that was disappointing. The meat flavour would of been more enhanced and enjoyable with more sauce.
Greeted by a very friendly lady and equally friendly waitress. We sat by a lovely warm wood fire had a beautiful meal . A great evening all round thank you
Wonderful food and the service was top class.
We arrived at 6pm, the opening time and were one of only 3 tables occupied. Our orders were taken within 20 to 30 minutes, with the garlic bread coming soon after. The children"s orders arrived by 7pm, but the orders for the adults hadn"t arrived until after the children had all finished their meals and we questioned where our meals were. By the time we ate our meals and then had the birthday cake for desert, it was after 9 when we were leaving! This was far too late for the children and completely at odds for our early arrival. We would have to think very seriously about this were we ever to reconsider going there again. Such a shame, it was a favourite restaurant for us.
I took my son there for he's birthday paid high price for eye fillet which was taken back to kitchen as rare and reheated and re served to my amazement in the 2 pieces it was in . By this time was tough . My son was hungry so just ate he's the potato gratin very disappointed with as well Very disappointed as was looking forward to nice meals for my time with my son but didn't want a unpleasant night so emailed when got home still waiting on response.
Went to celebrate my husbands birthday, went especially for the steak and it was not good. Very chewy and fatty, it was a struggle to cut it let alone chew it. I’d always wanted to go to WCC, now I can say I’ve been and unfortunately won’t return. On a positive the Staff were friendly and the premises were clean.
Staff beautiful - nothing was too much trouble and we had our baby and young daughter
Excellent delicious food and the service was fantastic the staff are extremely friendly
New menu is hard to read with wines listed underneath each it makes it too busy looking and confusing. A few more options in menu would also be good too.
Food was delicious, excellent wine to accompany. Would love to go back to taste some of the other dishes.
Venue appeared a little tired in main dining room. Friendly but under- trained staff. Menu inconsistent to my mind.
The food was absolutely delicious!
We are staying at the estate and was a great choice for dinner within walking distance.
Fantastic all round day out!
Too noisy and echo-y. We were yelling across the table to hear each other. No atmosphere. Too many waitresses attending us so that we were interrupted constantly.
The only down mark was that the menu item my wife chose was not available as the proper pan was not available. Perhaps it should have been removed from the menu. My wife then felt rushed to make a choice. We left a half bottle behind. I rang and it was waiting for me in a carry bag the next day. A nice touch
I haven’t been here for a while because I didn’t like the new menu. Thank god it’s changed. The food was fabulous. Service excellent. Can’t wait to return
Steak night is always good value. Not as good as it used to be but an improvement on previous visits. Hopefully new management can help bring it back to it's former glory.
