Disappointed with the food. Beautifully presented but flavours didn’t work so well together.

A bit disappointed, as 'House Made Petit Fours' , i.e., either Coconut & Nutella ball, or Apple curd, wasn't served at the final stage of the meal (booked under 'Festival of Food'. Though, this was reminded to the staff or two several times since the start of the meal.

This was a stunning meal with brilliant variety and value for money through the Festival of Food. One of my favourite SA restaurants - I come here as often as I can. It is also a great place for family get togethers and meeting with friends. Also love the views and atmosphere.

We went to windy point cafe to celebrate our daughter 7th birthday, the staff were very friendly and made her feel special and the little sweet addition at the end singing happy birthday was a very nice thought

The Maitre D' on the weekend is always welcoming and know's his stuff. This is a gem of a restaurant, always good quality and roughly the same as what you would spend on a pub meal.

We actually went for a Sunday brunch and only discovered this had been discontinued upon arrival. Our lunch was nevertheless very nice and, as always, the service excellent. Highly recommended.

Front of house wasn’t very warm or friendly which put a tarnish on our experience.

About the restaurant

Enjoy the view

Windy Point Restaurant and Café would have to be one of the most well-known and visited restaurants in South Australia. With breathtaking views over the city and all its lights, this place has housed many a special occasion birthday and its fair share of proposals, weddings, and other events. It houses both a formal fine dining restaurant as well as the lovely café, which is more informal and also opens for lunch on Sundays (the restaurant does not open for lunch). There are 180 degree panoramic views of the area and a lovely pavilion adjoining where you can enjoy pre-dinner drinks or a quick coffee outside. You can also have a wonderful time with the ‘small’ or ‘large’ plates on offer. Slider Wagyu burgers, Huon smoked salmon or smoked barramundi and leek pasty are all available as a starter, and the pappardelle pasta with beef and rosemary ragu or King Henry pork chop with quark and hazelnut pesto are very much talked about. Make sure if you come to SA you stop in here – and don’t forget your camera.

Best dish: duck legs, sweet potato puree and cherry chutney.
