Had the degustation and all four of us were very pleased with the quality of the food. Service was also top notch. Lovely sitting outside on a sunny day.
I loved the wine, the food was interesting and very tasty and the service was really warm and welcoming. The ambience is a bit of a let down as it’s quite a large restaurant and the decor is a bit dated.
Great value, high quality food
We were a party of 6 & a dog. Sat outside under a shady umbrella. Two people required gluten free meals, there were good choices available. All meals were beautifully presented, flavoursome, tasty and average sized portions. The artichoke entree exceptional. The beef and fish mains also exceptional. Banana dessert irresistible. A must when visiting Margaret River.
Always beautiful and creative food with great attention to detail and interesting flavours. Staff very friendly and helpful. Lovely setting.
Venue was a bit cool ( it was a cold day which did not help) also not inspiring. We had the 2 course $68 each meal. I had the kangaroo and my wife had the pork and neither of the plates were that warm, including my kangaroo. If it was not for the side of delious very hot potatoes, ( extra $12) it would of been uninspiring meal. Athough the pork was a thick and a reasonable size, about 25% was fat which could of been cut off after cooking. The sweets were both exceptional. Paying what I think is top dollar it was not value for.money. That said the kangaroo & pork was tender and tasted good and the waitress did offer a complementary dessert wine for the not very hot kangaroo.
Great food, the 6 course degustation is highly recommended. Friendly and quick service. Overall great experience.
The staff were friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Excellent customer service and very professional wait staff. The meals were superb and the set menu did not disappoint. I highly recommend this wonderful venue, we had a fantastic experience.
Great lunch menu, great place for kids, excellent vino
The restaurant felt a bit outdated and tired- they need to clean the dead flies out of the lights! Food was ok but there are many significantly better options in the south west at a similar price point.
Disappointing in comparison to previous visits. Food was ok but nothing outstanding and in fact vegetarian options had more flavour than the meat dishes.
We have tried to get lunch on a number of previous visits to Margaret River. Made it on this visit and did not disappoint. The food was absolutely delicious and our waiter, Conner, was a real professional.
Great service and delicious menu
Good place for families with young kids
A local favourite with great and friendly staff. Excellent choice of well cooked options. I am aware that, like many local Establishments, the restaurant suffers from selfish not shows’. Recommended without reservation
Amazing food! We have dined in many places in the Margaret River area and this has to rate as the best! Excellent value for money with a two or three course special. The waitstaff were welcoming, attentive and friendly. In this Covid19 time, we were so pleased to see thorough cleaning of tables and chairs before being escorted to our table. Social distancing was being adhered to by all patrons. We felt very comfortable and will definitely be back!
This was the second time I've had the pleasure of dining at Xanadu and it was somehow better than the last! The food is unpretentious and absolutely delicious. I'm a vegetarian and what was offered to me was perfecr; the gnocchi was to die for! Lovely, friendly service and a beautiful building to sit and watch the clouds pass by. We'll be back!
The service was good but they could have used some help. Busy school holiday Sunday and despite the excellent staff they were overworked. Excellent food in between waiting times though and good atmosphere. The wine was also good, as expected at Xanadu.
A nice restaurant with average food for the price. Kids meal arrived 20 minutes before adult meals and wine portion was below standard drink. Cellar door not welcoming at all. Disappointed for the price we paid.
We had a lovely meal but it was the exceptional attention to a difficult food allergy that was so impressive. We did not feel like it was any trouble and my guest was so pleased with her delicious meal. We all enjoyed our visit very much.
Boodjidup Rd, 6285, Margaret River (WA), Australia
Rustic space, seasonal produce and sweeping vineyard views.
Margaret River is home to many fine establishments, but Xanadu is one of the best. With a gorgeous Modern Australian menu and an unflinching promise to only provide the freshest local and seasonal produce, the only thing that makes it any better are their own range of top notch wines.
The venue is the perfect balance of spacious and cosy, with touches of natural timber, an amazing double sided fireplace, high ceilings of course the Margaret River landscape just outside the window.
Come here for an intimate lunch or if you’re feeling generous, a family affair that everyone will be impressed by.
Best dish: Seasonal fresh fish, broccolini, crab aioli, caper berries, anchovy crumb and salsa verde.
