The only criticism is that it was too noisy to hear the waitress telling us about the menu - but the food, drinks and service were otherwise all amazing!

Full on flavour. Works very well with Asian spices and sauces; not so good with other flavouring. Specifically, the salmon dish doesn't work because dill is nor a herb to be used in large quantities. Less is more because overdone it becomes 'weedy' and unpleasant. Bottom line: stick with the Asian umami dishes and give the European imports a miss.

Everything about XO was great. I went for a special family occasion and we loved every minute. Everything we ate was exceptional and they had the perfect level of service. I would definitely recommend.

XO is a great restaurant. We eat there on a regular basis and think its one of the best restaurants in Canberra. It's second restaurant Morning Glory in New Acton is also very good and is open for breakfast on the weekends. It's best to book as it is often booked out and you don't want to miss out on going to this restaurant.

The food was divine. Taste experience along with exceptional service makes this place a definite destination for future visits. The amount spent included higher end aperitifs and spirits. We loved it.

Small portions but really tasty food.

Seriously delicious food - even the person amongst our group who is usually sceptical about 'modern' Asian food and the prices that go with it, thought it was lovely. Service and ambience /lighting of the restaurant was great too. Even though the restaurant was full (on a Wednesday night in Canberra ! good sign), service was very attentive and the noise level, because of the appropriate floor covering, was fine. We could actually hold a conversation without yelling. Most enjoyable celebratory evening.

About XO

Love you like XO Quirky, modern and oh-so-cool, XO Restaurant is breathing new life into the sleepy suburb of Narrabundah. This cracking new eatery has been created by four Canberra boys with a passion for food and drink, and they have created something really special. The menu features upmarket Asian street food with a playful twist… start with some fresh and tangy cured kingfish, and follow this up with the Malaysian style Prawn Kapitan. And you can’t leave without trying their signature ‘Asian Bolognaise’ which features stir fried udon in XO chicken ragout with a 60/60 egg - it's super delicious! The decor is stunning and the food is beautifully presented - you’ll be gramming all night! Best dish: crispy lamb ribs
