Worth the trip Yungaburra Pizzeria. Has a certain ring to it, don’t you think? Perhaps that’s why its pizzaiolos (professionally-trained pizza makers) feel so in the zone creating the fresh dough that go into making their pizzas so special every day. It’s meant to be. At any rate, as 2012 winner of the best pizza in North Queensland – yes, the whole of North Queensland – Yungaburra Pizzeria is the equivalent of manna from heaven for this tiny town. The pizza Yungaburra - pumpkin, zucchini, pepperoni and gorgonzola cheese – is a winning combination, and the caprichosa is apparently the town’s – and the chef’s – sentimental favourite. We love the pizza Parma, with buffalo mozzarella, spinach, Parma ham, and shavings of parmesan cheese. Yep, you guessed it, no matter what you choose, this pizza is good. Damn good.
