Bowen Hills is an inner suburb of Brisbane, 3km northeast of the CBD. Formerly an industrial area, Bowen Hills is now an upmarket riverside living and dining destination. Brisbane’s first permanent food truck park, Welcome to Bowen Hills, is located here in King Street. Licensed for over 1000 people, the food trucks change daily.
King Street is the main retail and dining hub, replete with lots of trendy bars and restaurants. Nosh and drinking options abound in this part of town. Bavarian Beerhaus is an enormous beer hall, best enjoyed with a group of mates. Be tempted by one of El Camino Cantina’s huge margaritas at this authentic Mexican rock ’n’ roll joint. Il Verde is dishing up traditional Italian, while Six Acres is the spot for fine dining and a paddock to plate experience. With patisseries and cafes, French cuisine and ice cream shops rounding out the offering, this strip has it all.
