Mornington is a coastal township located 57 kilometres south of Melbourne’s central business district, sandwiched between Mount Eliza and Mount Martha. It is the gateway to the Mornington Peninsula, a region famous for its wine – especially chardonnay and pinot noir – and popular with holidaymakers.
Home to around 24,000 people, Mornington has a true village feel and a laidback atmosphere, which can best be enjoyed by exploring on foot. Main Street is lined with galleries, antiques shops, fashion stores, cafes and restaurants, and has a marina at Schnapper Point at the end of the street. Mornington’s market in Main Street every Wednesday is Victoria’s longest running midweek regional market.
