Rowville is an outer suburb of Melbourne, 27 kilometres south-east of the CBD towards the Dandenongs. The suburb is named after the Row family, whose Stamford Park homestead property was established in 1882 and restored in recent years. Rowville is one of the largest suburbs south-east of Melbourne, and it’s only 20 minutes’ drive to the nearest beaches.
Rowville Plaza is small but has various shops and cafes. The enormous shopping centre Caribbean Gardens is in neighbouring Scoresby. A local Rowville favourite is the welcoming Eating House, complete with a private dining room, wine cellar and alfresco dining. The Stonez Restaurant serves up modern Australian cuisine, while The Stamford Inn keeps visitors happy with classic bistro fare. Look out for parma night, steak night, members night and happy hours if you’re in the area.
