Located 12 kms north east of Perth city, Guildford was established in 1829. This historic village is the gateway to the famed Swan Valley wine region. The neighbourhood is resplendent with gorgeous old Georgian colonial era buildings and architecture, and Jacaranda trees. For history buffs, four self-guided heritage trails wind through the town.
Guildford’s main street is James Street. Just wander along and choose a restaurant, like Rose and Crown, Western Australia’s oldest operating pub or The Guildford Hotel, for traditional Aussie pub food. The King and I Thai, close to The Guildford, is an award-winning Thai restaurant. Don’t go to Guildford without stopping in here for an authentic curry or pad thai. To satisfy your sweet tooth, have a Devonshire tea at one of Guildford’s many cafes on James Street.
