Castlecrag is a bushland suburb right on the water in Middle Harbour with a wildlife corridor along the Sydney harbour front. The sheltered waterways here are fantastic for kayakers. Castlecrag also features an amphitheatre where there are performances throughout the year, including annual Christmas Eve carols. It’s an upmarket but warm and welcoming, family-oriented suburb, where housing is predominantly post-war. Wander the streets to discover a number of original Walter Burley Griffins, post-modern and art deco style buildings.
There is a selection of cafes and restaurants along Edinburgh Road that elevate what you can expect from a local neighbourhood location and casual dining. The Quadrangle Shopping Centre is a bit of a hub for food with a patisserie, Vietnamese, Chinese, and a couple of cafes. Castlecrag is easily accessible by car but also serviced by regular buses to and from the city, especially during peak times.
