Darlinghurst is a funky, vibrant inner-city area, full of high-energy. With a thriving LGBTI scene, the area is home to lots of nightclubs and pubs, as well as small bars with a concentration of places to eat on Victoria, Oxford and Stanley streets. Darlinghurst is great for both cool places to see and be seen, as well as cosy neighbourhood gems and fine dining.
Rich in history, it earned the suburb the name Razorhurst in the 1920s. This heritage is played upon in bars like Tilly Devine. Stanley Street was originally a hub for the Italian and Maltese community with restaurants that reflect that, but today Darlinghurst offers a range of cuisines from around the world. Its proximity to the Sydney CBD means it’s easily accessible by both train services (from Kings Cross Station) and bus services along Oxford Street.
