Nestled between Glebe and Annandale, Forest Lodge has an inner-city village vibe, just a short 30-minute bus ride from the Sydney CBD. Think leafy surrounds with established streets, with predominantly Victorian-era buildings, some of which are single family homes and some which have been converted to apartments. At the northern edge of the suburb, Jubilee Park nestles against the harbour in Rozelle Bay.
The local population is mostly professionals with children. Forest Lodge is also popular for students from the nearby University of Sydney and University of Technology, Sydney. For an award-winning pub meal in the neighbourhood, try the Forest Lodge Hotel. The Tramsheds at the former Harold Park racetrack are also a popular dining precinct with modern Australian, Italian, Japanese and Middle Eastern food options. Ross Street is another focal point in Forest Lodge for cafes and casual dining in the area.
